Tea tree oil is distilled from the leaves of the Australian tea tree. The oil is well known for its germicidal properties and is one of the most powerful natural antiseptics. During the second World War, it was given to Australian soldiers and sailors for the treatment of cuts, fungus, and infection. Tea tree oil is indispensable for any home first aid kit.
Tea tree oil is gentle but powerful. It can be placed directly on cuts and grazes to clean, disinfect and reduce pain. It will not sting like alcohol or other commercial first aid preparations. Because it is highly antiviral, it can kill almost any type of bacteria and is effective at preventing infection. It has antifungal properties and is effective as a treatment for athlete’s foot and ringworm. It is also effective in treatment of acne. Tea tree oil is an immune stimulant and helps the body to fight disease when it is run down, especially colds and flu.

PRECAUTIONS: Skin sensitization is rare but persons with sensitive skin should conduct a patch test before concentrated use.
For cuts and burns: Apply oil directly to injury to disinfect, reduce pain and promote healing.
For an immune stimulant: Useful before infectious illnesses reach their full potential; use twelve drops in the bath when you begin to feel ill.
For treatment of colds and flu: To relieve the congestion caused by colds and flu and relieve a sore throat, add five drops to a bowl of hot water for inhalation or combine five drops Tea tree oil with five drops Eucalyptus in one oz. base massage oil and massage throat area.
for treatment of weeping acne: Add ten drops to one oz. liquid hypo-allergenic facial soap. Blend well. Use preparation to cleanse areas of acne morning and night.
