Rosemary
Rosmarinus officinalis

The essential oil of Rosemary is steam distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of the herb. The essence is herbaceous and sweet. Refreshing and stimulating, this oil helps to clear the mind and strengthen the memory. It is excellent for use in the diffuser to alleviate mental and physical fatigue. When used in massage, the penetrating actions of Rosemary are beneficial in the treatment of muscular pain and arthritic conditions. Its toning-properties and ability to simulate blood flow, expel toxins and improve the digestion of fats makes it useful for the treatment of cellulite. Rosemary is also a common additive to many commercial hair care preparations because it simulates the scalp and revives dull and lifeless hair.

PROPERTIES: Digestive aid, circulatory stimulant, aid to memory, concentration and mental alertness, detoxifying agent.

BLENDS WELL WITH: Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit, Peppermint.

PRECAUTIONS: Avoid use of Rosemary if you are pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure or epilepsy.

For a stimulating scalp massage: Blend four drops Rosemary oil wit ½ oz. base oil. Massage mixture into the scalp with circular movements. Rinse and shampoo.

For an invigorating bath: A morning bath with eight drops Rosemary in /2 oz. bath base oil will help to awaken the senses and tone the body.

For improving concentration: Add ten drops Rosemary to an essential oil burner or lamp ring diffuser.

For a pain relieving massage: To relieve pain and assist in detoxification of the body, add ten drops Rosemary to one oz. unscented massage oil.
