Petitgrain
Citrus aurantium

Petitgrain is distilled from the leaves, twigs and unripe fruit of the Seville orange tree. The scent is sharp and herbaceous with sweet orange undertones. Historically, Petitgrain was used for perfumes and cosmetics and has also been used as a flavoring for many drinks.

Petitgrain is excellent for promoting relaxation and feelings of calm; relieving anxieties and helping one to deal with stress. It has cleansing properties and is a very good treatment for acne. It can reduce fluid retention and puffiness, particularly under the eyes. When used regularly in skin care, Petitgrain promotes softer, smoother skin.

PROPERTIES: Similar to Neroli oil and an excellent alternative. Relaxing, calming, cleansing.

BLENDS WELL WITH: Orange, Lemon Bergamot, Mandarin, Lavender, patchouli, Rose, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Chamomile.

For a soothing atmosphere: Burn six drops Petitgrain in the diffuser to create a calming room fragrance.

For a restorative massage: Combine six drops Petitgrain with six drops Clary Sage in one oz. unscented massage oil.

For the treatment of dry, irritated skin: To soften and soothe irritated skin, gently massage the affected area with a combination of three drops Petitgrain, ten drops Chamomile and one teaspoon unscented face oil.

For a relaxing bath: Add eight drops Petitgrain to the bath to relax and relieve anxiety and nervous tension. Stir before entering to disperse the oil.
