Cajeput

Cajeput oil, with its spicy, penetrating essence is steam distilled from a fermentation of the young twigs, leaves and buds of the tree that grows in the East Indies. It was long known and highly valued in the east for thousands of years before its arrival in Europe during the eighteenth century. In Malaysia and Indonesia, Cajeput oil is well known as a common remedy for cholera and rheumatism.
The warming, stimulating, analgesic properties of Cajeput make it useful for the treatment of colds, flu and rheumatism. It relieves the pain of stiff sore muscles and helps to warm the chest and relieve tightness. It also helps to promote sleep through its sudorific properties. Cajeput will also help to cool the environment and eliminate mosquitoes in the summer when used in an atomizer.
PROPERTIES: Warming, stimulating, analgesic, antiseptic, antiviral, insect repellant, sudorific.
BLENDS WELL WITH: Basil, other spice oils such as Black Pepper, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lemon.
PRECAUTIONS: Always dilute Cajeput well with concentrations of no more than 0.5% to prevent skin irritation, Dangerous if taken internally. Keep out of the reach of children.
For relieving rheumatism and stiff joints: Dilute 3 drops of Cajeput in 1 tablespoon unscented almond oil and massage areas of discomfort.
For relief of coughs, colds, and respiratory problems: Add a few drops Cajeput to a tissue and inhale throughout the day for relief. Can also aid with restful sleep when the scented tissue is placed under the pillow at bedtime.
For a natural insect repellent: Using a glass atomizer, dilute six drops Cajeput in 2 oz. water. Shake well before each use.
For a stimulating atmosphere: Use six drops Cajeput in the diffuser.
