Thyroid Health
The thyroid is our emotional gland. It is fragile and can influence our behavior and actions. There are two conditions that can cause us many problems. One is Hyper Thyroid; this is when the thyroid gland produces too much hormone, resulting in an overactive metabolic state. The body's processes, including digestion, speed up. Malabsorption occurs, so a proper diet is important. The symptoms could be irritability, nervousness, increased perspiration, fatigue, weakness, insomnia, weight gain or loss, heart tremors and rapid heartbeat. The pituitary, parathyroid and sex glands can also be affected. Multiple vitamins, B complex, Vitamin C, Lecithin, and extra B-6 are helpful along with a proper diet of broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage and green leaf and raw spinach. Avoid all dairy products for three to four months. Also, drink no coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
The most common problems are found by those with a Hypo Thyroid or under active thyroid. Many more people suffer with hypothyroid than hyper thyroid. Some of the symptoms are: loss of appetite, overweight, fatigue, painful premenstrual periods, muscle weakness, dry skin, a yellow-orange color in the skin, (especially on the palms), yellow bumps on eyelids, hair loss (including eyebrow and lower legs), constipation, depression, recurrent infections, slow speech and those that are cold while others are warm. B complex with each meal, B-12, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Zinc are recommended for this malady. Eat fish, chicken, cheese, raw bulk parsley, apricots, egg yolks and dates. Avoid processed refined foods, including white flour and sugar. Drink pure water and avoid fluoride.
This formula can be of much help for both conditions – High and Low thyroid, however, those with hyper thyroid should start with a low dose and only increase amount from one capsule with each meal to possibly two capsules with each meal, when they feel some positive effect. Most people have a problem with hypo thyroid (low). They should be able to increase to two or three capsules two to three times each day much faster.
Bladderwrack- Helps in balancing the thyroid, especially a slow acting hypo thyroid. Bladderwrack is a fine source of minerals and iodine, which increases the metabolism. It helps with weight loss, anxiety (caused by an unbalanced thyroid), water retention, cellulite and hot flashes.
Dulse- Is helpful for the endocrine system. It is very high in minerals, helps balance thyroid problems, is high in Iodine and is helpful for weight loss.
Irish Moss- Is an organic source of Iodine which helps rid the body of excess fluids. It helps absorb toxins and radiation from the body. Irish Moss helps reduce appetite and is a protector to all glands and lungs. It assists with goiter, weight reduction and is helpful for most thyroid problems.
Black Walnut- Is another source of organic Iodine that can support the thyroid in healing. It helps to burn excessive toxins, balance sugar levels, and taken in larger amounts, can remedy bad blood, such as syphilis and scrofula, and many more problems. Only a small amount is used for its synergistic effect with other herbs.
Sarsaparilla- Is very effective for the endocrine system. Only a small amount is in this formula so both men and women can be helped with their hormones; that in turn can help the thyroid. It can also assist the body and other herbs in removing heavy metals and poison from the thyroid.
