Optimal Vision Formula
At New Sun, we are always striving to produce products that are strongly needed by the general public and requested by our members working in the natural health field. More and more people are suffering with conditions of the eyes. We have a wonderful Advanced Eye and Body formula that is a comprehensive blend of nutrients needed by not only the eyes but as the name implies, by the body as well. However, we are all different and what may be beneficial for one may not be for another. That is why we offer several products for the same condition.
With the introduction of New Sun’s Optimal Vision Formula we have a product that is high in antioxidant protection that is vital to the eye, which is susceptible to free radical damage. The ingredients read like a “who’s who” in eye care.
Zinc, which has always been associated as an antioxidant that helps to protect the retina, is super- charged when combined with beta-carotene derived from vitamins A and C.
Lutein is a carotenoid found in vegetables and fruits. It acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells against the damaging effects of free radicals. Lutein is not made in the body; Lutein must be obtained from food or vitamin supplements. Lutein is found in large amounts in flowers and green, leafy vegetables. Research indicates that because of its antioxidant properties, Lutein consumption may play a role in maintaining the health of the eye lens, retina, macula, and optical nerves.
Bilberry dates back many years. It received much recognition during the Second World War when British RAF Pilots used Bilberry jam to help increase their night vision. It is said to have been used to reduce eye irritation and fatigue, nearsightedness, night blindness and increased ocular circulation.
Copper is used to help balance the zinc and to add more antioxidants to the formula.
Schisandra is found in northern and northeast China, adjoining regions of Russia and Korea. The fully ripe, sun dried fruit is used medicinally for a variety of medical conditions. It will assist in relieving the eye of dryness, eyestrain, tiredness and blurry vision.
Beta-Carotene has been proven in reliable information to have definite health benefits and synthetic (chemical) Beta-Carotene has no health benefit. Of course, this is the case with all vitamins; natural works and chemical does not. Beta-Carotene, when mixed in the proper amounts, may be a boost to eye health in preventing night blindness and other eye problems.
Ginkgo is the world’s oldest living tree, a species whose existence can be traced back more than 200 million years! Ginkgo's pharmacological activity is due to its high content of Terpenes, flavonoids, pro-dither, circadian and Ginkgo Heterosides (flaviglycerides). Ginkgo Biloba extract has demonstrated remarkable pharmacological action on different parts of the circulatory and nervous system (arteries, capillaries, veins, and heart), thus better circulation for the eyes. Lycopene is associated with reduced risk of macular degenerative disease.

Taurine is a conditionally-essential amino acid which is not utilized in protein synthesis, but rather is found free or in simple peptides. Taurine has been shown to be essential in certain aspects of mammalian development, and in vitro studies in various species have demonstrated that low levels of taurine are associated with various pathological lesions, including cardiomyopathy, retinal degeneration, and growth retardation, especially if deficiency occurs during development. Clinically, taurine has been used with varying degrees of success in the treatment of a wide variety of conditions, including: cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, epilepsy and other seizure disorders, macular degeneration.
Quercetin is a powerful anti-oxidant. It is also a natural anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory.
Zeaxanthin (zee-uh-zan'-thin) plays an essential role in protecting the retina of the eye from the damaging effects of light.
Additional antioxidants help to strengthen this formula to make it one that will benefit the entire body.
