Advanced Joint Health

More and more people are suffering with problems involving the joints wither it be stiffness, pain due to inflammation or arthritic conditions. In an effort to broaden our product line to accommodate our members we go to our members who are actively involved with on going research. One such person is Dr. Jeanne Petan of Simpsonville, SC. Dr. Petan has been working in this field for over 20 years and has always worked with Jim with formulations. This latest addition is a WINNER. Many people have had the opportunity to use this product as part of their protocol and their reports have been outstanding.

The lists of ingredients in this formula are very impressive and together they work to bring relief very quickly.

Glucosamine Sulfate (also known as Glucosamine Sulphate) is the form that has been tested in dozens of clinical trials. All Glucsoamine Sulfate forms originated from shellfish , our source is shrimp, and has been shown since the first clinical studies in 1980 to be effective at easing discomfort associated with arthritis - at least - if not more effectively than common non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin. Glucosamine sulfate also has very few side effects in comparison to NSAIDS, which can erode your digestive tract and cause internal bleeding, liver failure or death when taken over time or in people over the age of about 45 when your body being to not be able to heal quite as effectively.

White Willow Bark The white willow was introduced into the United States from Europe and can be found next to rivers and streams throughout the country. The bark is the part of the willow used, and is easily removed in the spring when the sap begins to flow.

Willows have been used for centuries for pain relief and reduction of fever. The leaves can be chewed, and contain salicylic acid. This compound has been synthesized into acetylsalicylic acid, otherwise known as aspirin.

Natural salicylic acid is nearly as potent as aspirin, however, the compound salicin from willow does not cause gastric or intestinal upset or bleeding as aspirin can. This is because willow does not block prostaglandins in the stomach or intestines.

Potassium (from glucosamine sulfate) is a mineral that assists in muscle contraction and in maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance in body cells. Potassium is also important in sending nerve impulses as well as releasing energy from protein, fat, and carbohydrates during metabolism. High dietary intake from fruits and vegetables throughout one’s life helps to preserve bone mass thereby preventing bone loss that can lead to osteoporosis. We know from experience that our foods are lacking in this essential mineral.

Boswellia Serrata in combination with other herbs, may improve pain and function in patients with OA. Boswellia is an Asian tree also called salsi guggal or Indian frankincense. Boswellia has been commonly used as an anti-inflammatory agent for arthritis, asthma, and ulcerative colitis in Ayurvedic medicine.

Tumeric is extensively cultivated all over India. India is the principal supplier of turmeric to the world markets. The total acreage under turmeric in India has been estimated variously from 60,000 to 100,000 acres, and the production is nearly 100,000 tons of rhizomes per annum. In traditional systems of medicine, turmeric is known to relieve inflammation, C. longa rhizomes of various habitats exhibit fungistatic (inhibiting the growth of a fungus) activity particularly against Aspergillus niger. In live blood cell work, Aspergillus niger is prevalent in persons who suffer with arthritic conditions. We have used the rhizome extract in this formula.

Gamma oryzanol is a natural component of rice bran. Some evidence suggests that gamma oryzanol stimulates the release of endorphins (pain-relieving substances made in the body), and promotes the growth of lean muscle tissue.

Plant Enzymes: Proteases (proteinases, peptidases or proteolytic enzymes) are enzymes that break peptide bonds between amino acids of proteins. The process is called proteolytic cleavage, a common mechanism of activation or inactivation of enzymes especially involved in blood coagulation or digestion. Cellulase is an enzyme complex which breaks down cellulose to beta-glucose.
